OAK LED Race Track Lights Professional High Output Race Lighting For Speedway Tracks & More.

High-quality lights for racing such as OAK LED’s are built to handle the high demands of motorsports while powering your racing facility into the spotlight.

The Critical Importance of Race Track Lighting

Light is crucial to racing because the competition must be safe at all times. So OAK LED design its lights to illuminate a night time racing area as if it were a day time and to deliver consistently clear visual perception to the venue of all levels of competition and also to the spectators as well. The light is spread across the pit area as well as the whole racing area and then on to the spectators.

At OAK LED, our expertise in creating race track lights is rooted in an in-depth knowledge of what is required of each product to be suitable for use in high speed operation. Our engineers take account of the instant reaction times needed by drivers to avoid accidents, the wide coverage that is required for the many different areas around a race track and the high quality of illumination that is needed for broadcast purposes. From temporary installations through to long-term, permanent solutions, we have a range of different models of racing lights that have been specifically designed with the unique demands of motorsports in mind and which are sure to deliver superior performance when compared to alternative options such as metal halide or HPS.

Benefits of OAK LED Race Track Lights

Each of the OAK LED racing lighting fixtures that we supply to a racing venue provides a comprehensive list of advantages to that venue.

Uncompromising Visibility and Safety

In all environments, the most important feature of OAK LED’s Race Track Lights is to create safe environments for drivers. They deliver the best and safest conditions by providing the most powerful and most uniform light for all areas of the racing surface and all surrounding environments such as pit lane and all areas of the spectator stands. The light is distributed precisely and shines only down on the racing surface to guarantee the safest of environment for all drivers.

As cars travel at high speed through corners, every feature of the racing environment must be clearly visible. This includes the tire walls, safety barriers, track surface, pit lane, as well as the cars themselves. In order to safely view all of these features, racing environments must be properly illuminated. OAK LED lights provide highly visible racing environments with excellent visibility and clear images, thanks in part to their high Color Rendering Index (CRI) rating. This ensures that all objects within the racing environment are clearly visible and are depicted in high detail, providing a clear and safe environment for racing to take place.

Our fixtures have been designed with glare control in mind. This means that when viewed from above, we limit the amount of light that is emitted. All of the light from our track lighting fixtures is directed downwards to the track surface. This ensures that the best possible visibility for the drivers is always achieved.

Broadcast-Ready Performance

Motorsport has become a multi-million dollar industry with much of the money being made through television coverage, streaming of the events, and then afterwards through video footage of the on and off track action. As such, all of the images and video footage are dependent on the track and its surrounds being consistently and brightly lit, to ensure that the resulting images are of the highest quality.

OAK LED fixtures are able to accurately display the deep colors and high value graphics found on today’s motorsports vehicles. This means that the white of a car is still white and not yellow, and all of the deep reds and other colors are very vibrant. In addition, all printed sponsor graphics found on the cars are readable by television audiences. This allows for teams and their sponsors to receive the greatest return on investment.

High Output OAK LED Race Track Lighting for a Quarter Mile Drag Strip: Install high powered race track lights along the staging lanes down through the lights to the finish line to create an awesome racing environment for all the drivers, their crews, spectators, as well as video. The great amounts of light will look fantastic in post event video replay.

No negative effects of flicker. The vast majority of types of lighting suffer from what are commonly referred to as ‘flicker artifacts’. These can appear as ‘banding’ or as ‘rolling shutter’ and are most often visible in video that has been recorded in dark locations and which contains many fast moving objects. OAK LED have engineered their LED fixtures to remove all of the negative effects of flicker, meaning that videos recorded using our lighting will be of the highest possible quality.

Dramatic Energy Savings

Nighttime racing events on a half-mile oval consume lots of energy. However, by making the switch to OAK LED lighting you can save up to 70% of the typical energy required by Metal Halide or HPS systems for similar light output. For a half-mile oval operating seven nights per week, this could be as much as $15,000 per year in savings for a typical facility. Large facilities with major events could save even more. This is an example of the OAK LED lighting solution at Big Diamond Speedway in Minersville, PA.

We project a large savings of $15,000 to $30,000 annually at a 1/2 mile oval racing facility holding weekly events. This significant reduction in expense could have a major impact on the budget at your racing facility and increase your bottom line in a large manner.

The energy savings from OAK LED Race Track Lighting can often exceed the initial cost of the lighting within the first 100,000 hours of operation.

Instant On/Off Capability

If the facility is running late as it is, then the last thing that you want to have happen is to have a power failure. Metal halide lights can take 15-20 minutes to come up to full brightness. And in the case of a power failure, it can take metal halide lights a long time to ‘restrike’ and come back to full service. This can be a big problem in motorsports where every minute counts.

OAK LED race track lights also have 100% Instantaneous Power Up! Meaning an event can start on time. A rain delay can end on time and an unexpected power failure can have an event back on track in an instant when power is restored. This is especially important when events are televised. The event has to be on time and according to the sanctioned body’s rules and time table.

This is so important to us here at OAK Lighting for professional events such as these. As previously mentioned our Instant On ability for Superior CRI lights will allow for schedule to run on time and give you the flexibility to have your event at any time of day or night and then be able to have your rain delayed event and then get back to racing as quickly as possible in the event of a power failure. The broadcasters and the sanctioning body will appreciate this.

Extended Lifespan and Reduced Maintenance

When you invest in a quality lighting system for your racing facility, you expect it to function properly over a long period of time. Of course, that does not mean that you will never have to perform maintenance on your racing facility lighting. All large installations like those used for lighting a race track are complicated and require a great deal of effort to service. It is common for pole-mounted lighting systems to have tall poles that are spread across a large area. As a result, individual lights can be far apart and difficult to access for repair. Getting to individual fixtures can sometimes require the use of expensive lift equipment and specialized personnel who are qualified to perform the necessary servicing and repairs.

OAK LED lighting solutions are designed to last and we have set the standard at 100,000 hours of use for our race track lights. Compare that to metal halide lighting for racing that only last a few years and require frequent replacement of the bulb. In addition to extending the life of your racing lighting solution, our maintenance free design means your maintenance crews will appreciate not having to constantly climb up to change bulbs.

Technical road course lighting: OAK LED race track lights distributed around the racing circuit to create the same view for the driver as he would have in the daylight around the corners, straightaways, up and down hills, etc.

Durable Construction for Demanding Environments

Racing facilities can be some of the most demanding environments for lighting systems due to extreme temperatures, vibration, dirt and rubber from tires, oil and fuel from vehicles, and inclement weather. The fixtures at a racing facility must continue to operate for extended periods of time in less than ideal environments.

With the housing rated as IP66 the OAK LED Track Lighting can protect itself against the elements. The finish of the fixture is also corrosion resistant ensuring that the lighting will look great even in harsh outdoor environments. All fixtures have been designed to withstand the vibrations of poles during racing.

OAK LED track lighting is designed for extreme temperatures and can function in conditions as low as -40CF and as high as 60C. This makes them a perfect solution for Winter Ice Racing events or a summer night event.

OAK LED Race Track Light Features

OAK LED premium motorsports fixtures with advanced features designed for long life and maximum performance.

High-Output Performance

Facilities that hold a lot of racing events require a lot of light to cover a very large area, however few poles are required by using a high lumen package to illuminate a very large area. Our very high lumen packages are designed as single units to provide up to 150,000+ lumens. This allows for a few poles to illuminate a very large racing area rather than a large number of poles. This will help save money on the initial installation and also on future maintenance.

Precision Optics

OAK LED race track lights provide a number of benefits. First the high quality of the optics, and the multiple beam angles created by the different types of projectors on the light can be created to provide the exact distribution of light that is required for a particular racing event. Our team of engineers can create a detailed photometric plan for your specific track. This plan would detail how the light will perform in all scenarios including the straightaways of the track, the corners of the track, the pit lane where cars are serviced by their teams and their crews, as well as the spectator areas around the track.

Advanced Thermal Management

LED lighting for extreme applications like motorsport can generate a lot of heat. In order to extend the life of the product, a proper thermal design is critical to ensure that the LED light source is operating at optimal temperatures to ensure maximum performance.

Smart Control Integration

Smart control compatible. Our lights can be set to go through different scenes for practice, qualifying and racing. Also our lights can be linked to your facility’s management system to be completely controlled from the management system of your facility.
