Building Lighting Projects Need to Pay Attention to 6 Major Elements

The building lighting project mainly starts from the following six aspects

1. What kind of effect do you want to achieve?

Buildings may produce different lighting effects due to their different appearances. Either a more uniform feeling, or a feeling of strong light and dark changes, either a more plain way of expression, or a more lively way of expression, all of which are determined by the properties of the building itself.

2. Choose a suitable light source

The choice of light source should consider factors such as light color, color rendering, efficiency, and life span. The light color is equivalent to the color of the exterior wall material of the building. Generally speaking, bricks and yellowish-brown stone are more suitable to be illuminated with warm light, and the light source is high pressure sodium lamp or halogen lamp. White or light-colored marble can be irradiated with cold white light (metallic lamp) with a higher color temperature, but it is also okay to use a high-pressure sodium lamp.

3. Calculate the required illuminance value

The required illuminance during the building lighting project mainly depends on the brightness of the surrounding environment and the color depth of the building's exterior wall materials. The recommended illuminance value is for the main facade (main viewing direction). Generally speaking, the illuminance of the secondary façade is half of the main façade, and the three-dimensional effect of the building can be expressed by the difference in brightness of the two sides.

4. Choose the right lighting method

According to the characteristics of the building and the current situation of the building base, determine the most appropriate lighting method to achieve the desired lighting effect.

5. Choose the appropriate lamps

Generally speaking, wide-angle lamps have a more uniform effect, but are not suitable for long-distance projection; narrow-angle lamps are suitable for long-distance projection. In addition to the light distribution characteristics of the lamp selection, the appearance, material, dustproof, and waterproof grade (IP grade) are also factors that must be considered.

6. On-site adjustment after installation

On-site adjustment is absolutely necessary. The projection direction of each lamp designed by the computer is only for reference, and the illuminance value calculated by the computer is only a reference value. Therefore, the site adjustment after the installation of each lighting project should actually be based on what the human eye sees.

The architectural lighting project is a complex project that needs to start from the details. Every step of the design and construction needs to be treated with caution, not to be quick for a while, only in this way can it be possible to produce high-quality goods
